Set root password in XAMPP’s phpMyAdmin

I needed to set root password for my mysql. I started XAMPP /opt/xampp/xampp start I browsed to http://myhost/phpmyadmin In the phpMyAdmin window, I selected SQL tab from the right panel. This opened the SQL tab where I can run the SQL queries.
